How Much do lessons cost?
Lesson cost depends on whether the student travels to the teacher or vice versa, however my standard rates are available on the rates page.
How will I be billed?
Billing takes place once a month, and the instructor accepts Venmo, Paypal, cash, and Zelle as payment methods. The first lesson is free, and after that you will be billed on a monthly basis from the date of the second lesson. Due to holidays and quirks in the calendar, some months will have 5 lessons, some will have 3, and most will have 4. The charge is the same each month.
What age should I or my child begin taking music lessons?
This can depend on the disposition of the student and their chosen instrument. In general, starting around age 6 is appropriate for piano and string instruments. That being said, it is never too late to start! The student will need to be able to comfortably hold an appropriately sized instrument, have an adequate attention span, and show some interest in learning an instrument.
What can I expect from lessons?
Every student is different and as such each individual lesson will be different based on the students instrument, desired goals, musical tastes etc. In general though music lessons consist of technical development using a method book, learning to read music notation, learning improvisation skills and theory, and working on music that interests the student. At the end of the day, as an instructor I exist to act as a guide for each student's musical journey.
